What is the role of argon in the PVD coating machine?

AR+2 is an inert gas (similar to helium, neon, xenon... all belong to the inert gas). In PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition), it is used as a working gas, and its main function is to use Glow in PVD (cleaning), working gas when depositing film, etc. Because it is a gas in the inert family, its activity is not as strong as other gases (such as acetylene, methane, nitrogen, oxygen); in production, the use of argon as a working gas is mainly due to economic considerations, and the cost is relative to other inert gases. It is the cheapest, followed by helium (in PVD or vacuum), which is used for leak detection.
